“Where do I hunt for treasures” is often a question you start with as you prepare to set out on a search for valuables. In addition to physical treasures are the added gems of working out, building relaxation, and learning the history of an area. For most detectorists this is only a technique to an end but it enriches your pastime if you keep it in mind and love everything from examining the history of a property to eventually finding a treasure. You can expect to find hidden treasures just by following a few hidden ideas.
Two locations perfect for detecting valuable finds are land areas where towns gathered together and trails that were once used long ago. Although these trails may be terribly hard to locate, they are worth the time to find them. The simplest way to find these hidden trails is to find archives kept at local churches or libraries. Detecting old trails may give you fantastic finds such as old coins, relics and caches. Although most people believed they would return to the cache, some type of harm may have come to them. Hidden treasures such as knives or guns may also be detected. Hidden treasures such as coins or antiques may also be found in areas that were used as common get together for town people such as old barns or church areas.
Asking where people have been is one of the most important questions to ask when exploring hunting areas of suburban areas that lend themselves to unending possibilities. Basements, cellars, and even where clothe lines may have hung all may have hidden coins that have been dropped over the years. Relaxing under and enormous tree or playing a game of tag is where children would gather to leave treasures. Parks where people gathered or played are hidden places for old coins even if they have been detected before. Old railroad depots can also yield some interesting finds. Looking for treasures, head to an old standing church site to try your luck. Building sites may also yield interesting finds that was buried and are nowadays near the surface.
“Market”, “Grove”, or “Trail” are all clues that maybe that city road was once an open area and valuables are still lurking just beneath the surface. In the city, explore building sites and even grassy areas between sidewalks and streets. Old Taverns or Inns may also have long missed valuables about them.
Looking at the location through the eyes of the people that were there and using your own imagination will help you to have a good hunt.
